Explosion-proof junction box and sealed luminaire on their bracket, with the earthing bar and the yellow-and-green cable in view, at a port terminal

Hydrocarbon terminals

In a port that handles fuel there is vapour in the air, and one spark is enough for an accident. That is why we install equipment certified for explosive atmospheres. And we hand over the paperwork you need for your protection plan.

What it covers

  • ITC-BT-29
  • Hazardous area
  • Equipotential bonding
01Certified equipment for each zone

Luminaires, boxes and switches certified for the zone they go in. The owner classifies the zones, under ITC-BT-29.

02Earthing and bonding

We earth every metal part and bond them all together. That leaves no voltage difference between them, which with fuel vapour around would be a spark.

03What we check on each item

On every board, socket, luminaire and junction box we check that it is identified, its condition, that it can be reached and that its rating plate is legible. Also the earthing of metal parts and the emergency lighting.

04Periodic inspection and records

Every inspection ends in a report, item by item, with what is fine and what needs fixing. It is the record the installation requires.

05Paperwork for the owner

We hand over what you need for your explosion protection document.
