Hydrocarbon terminals
In a port that handles fuel there is vapour in the air, and one spark is enough for an accident. That is why we install equipment certified for explosive atmospheres. And we hand over the paperwork you need for your protection plan.
What it covers
- ITC-BT-29
- Hazardous area
- Equipotential bonding
Luminaires, boxes and switches certified for the zone they go in. The owner classifies the zones, under ITC-BT-29.
We earth every metal part and bond them all together. That leaves no voltage difference between them, which with fuel vapour around would be a spark.
On every board, socket, luminaire and junction box we check that it is identified, its condition, that it can be reached and that its rating plate is legible. Also the earthing of metal parts and the emergency lighting.
Every inspection ends in a report, item by item, with what is fine and what needs fixing. It is the record the installation requires.
We hand over what you need for your explosion protection document.
